Here is my final garment suggestion for my design.

Tutorial two..

Alex looked through my images that i had created so far and guided me in what changes i should make. He did advise me to use more colour maybe use colour from the family photographs i had used. He also shown me a few more techniques that i could use that would fit in with my ideas.

Tutorial one..

In my first tutorial alex had a look at what my inspiration was and what ideas i had to experiment with in photoshop. He guided me into using photographs from my family life to have some input of my own identity. Maybe to add more colour to my images too and just experiment with all the different techniques we had been shown in cad lesson.

This is another one i liked as it is different to the others it is more like a repeat.

I really liked this one too, i think it stands out from all the others as it is floral and not iconic like most of my other designs.

This is the second image i used to do my final garment with, i thought this was one of my best ones to.

Again i used black ink for this image, i wanted this eye to look slightly abstract.

Here i did an abstract image of an eye again using black ink.

Here another image of an iris that i did to use different images rather than the same ones.

Here is an interpretation of an iris that i drew using black ink also.

Here is an interpretation of a helix done by me using black ink.

This design i tried to use colour as most of my others were black and white or grey i experimented with purples and lilacs.

Designs..

This was one of my first designs that i did i ended up using this for one of my finals on my garment as i thought it was one of the best i did.

Digital Image Making

For supporting study i chose Digital Image Making.
Our theme was Organic:Synthetic.
I chose to use identity and dna for research purposes and inspiration.
From this i generated ideas and experimented in photoshop after having the cad sessions, i learnt a lot of techniques and can now use photoshop a lot better than i could before.

Organic:Synthetic - Digital image making supporting study 2

Today we had our briefing from Alex for our new project. I was quite confused when i first read the brief on the intranet as i thought the theme was rather broad. However, after alex explaining everything i am much more clear with what it is and what i would like to do for this project. I am thinking maybe looking at DNA structure for my theme as its a natural form and therefore relates to organic. I would like to explore this by looking at DNA  in humans aswell as natural forms such as trees and plants. i am interested in the structure of it and how i could play around with this digitally and turn this into my designs? For the synthetic side i was thinking of using abstract art to mix it up. I also want to incorporate some photography in my final outcomes as i am particularly interested in turning it into styling for fashion.

Hussein Chalayan

Hussein Chalayan is one of my favourite designers, i love his work and the way he creates fashion from anything he can get his hands on. For instance his skirt that transformed into a table, GENIUS! I like the way he thinks and how all his designs are very original and have a clear story behind them. Just over a year ago now i visited his exibition which was in London it was amazing. His Inertia collection i found particularly interesting as his ideas came from a car crash. So the dresses looked wind swepped as if they were in motion. This makes it come alive and is what fashion is all about. All of his work is show stopping he manages to come up with the most original ideas and this was what i am interested in. It would be amazing to find out what inspires him.

I havent uploaded anything new on here for a while now as over the holidays i have been concentrating on doing my journal, i had a thought about just adding this blog as part of my journal. From now on im going to be uploading my journal onto here.

Illustrations

Today i am starting to do my illustrations, i am thinking about taking existing garments i.e menswear from the internet and scanning in my own knits to put on the garments in photoshop.
